Every Problem Has A Solution

We all know life is a mixture of joy and sorrow. There are times when we are flying high riding on the wings of Success. Similarly there are times when the tides are against us. The feeling is as if we are falling off a cliff in free fall with no ray of hope, nobody who will provide a helping hand.

Most of us tend to forget the happy moments of our life and focus on the bitter experiences and problematic situations of our life. The result is that we are neither able to enjoy life fully nor we are able to overcome problems in life. Ultimately we fail to explore our true potential in life.

Why Are We So Lazy

How do we define lazy?

As per Oxford Dictionary, we call a person lazy when he is unwilling to work or use energy. Laziness is characterized by lack of effort or activity.

Is laziness just a habit?

Jason Selk, St. Louis Cardinals Mental Training Director, also Owner and President of Enhanced Performance explains “Laziness is not a personality disorder. It’s just a habit. Lazy thinking and lazy behaviour, like any other habits, can be broken. Laziness isn’t something we’re born with. It’s a behaviour we learned along the way.”

What makes a person lazy?

What is it that leads a person to inaction? A person may be unwilling to work or use energy for short duration under peculiar circumstances or it is also possible that longer period of inaction has developed into a habit of laziness. There could be several reasons for laziness.

I want to change - No more excuses

I often find people discussing if it’s actually possible to change ourselves for the betterment. Also at times I find people telling each other that all these motivational talks, techniques for self-development and training don’t yield results.

We observe that in bad times, even people with positive mind-set cannot escape the feeling of despair and self-doubt.  The only difference is they overcome this feeling and bounce back fast.

For those of you, who believe change for betterment is not possible, I want you to look back upon your own life experiences from this perspective. Is it not true that whenever you had set short term goals for yourselves, you had achieved those goals? Some of those goals were getting selected in school cricket team, winning inter school debate competition, clearing engineering entrance examination, doing certifications in I.T industry, getting job in your desired company etc.

How to overcome stress and live a life full of happiness

Stress has become an integral part of our day to day life. And the worst thing is that if we don’t take corrective measures, we start remaining under stress for longer duration which causes lot of health issues later on in life. So let’s try and understand what stress is and how can we overcome stress in life?

Understanding Stress

Stress is a reaction by an organism to a disturbing or dangerous situation.

Robert M Sapolsky, a Stanford University neurobiologist has penned down his research on stress in a great book “Why Zebras don’t get ulcers”. Sapolsky explains that in humans and other animals, body’s response to stress is the same. When Zebras runs for their life from chasing lion, basics are all that matter. Lungs work overtime to pump mammoth quantities of oxygen into the blood streams. The heart braces to pump that oxygen to throughout the body. So muscles respond instantly. You need your blood pressure to deliver that energy. You run for your life. Body turns off anything that is not essential, be it growth, reproduction, tissue repair or any other repair to a later time if the zebra survives. But as soon as Zebra escapes his death, its stress response shuts down.

Success Mantra - Just Do It

I want you to take out some time and look back upon your life. As a child, what was your biggest dream in life? What did you want to become in life? Who were your role models when you were younger? What is your biggest accomplishment so far?

I am sure, we all need to do a lot more than what we are doing right now, if we have to reach any way near our childhood dreams. Some of you will be wondering “Oh God, when was the last time, I gave it a thought?”

Why is it that most of us have dumped our dreams and got ourselves busy in “9” to “6” office jobs five days a week? Where is the fire, where is the passion, where is the energy which was there when we were small kids? What has gone wrong in us over the years as we grew older? Actually the fact of the matter is “We have stopped dreaming now.”

There has to be a reason for our changed behaviour. And today, we have to identify the reason and accordingly change our mind set.

Have you ever wondered what could be the secret recipe for a life full of happiness? Till the time we don’t have them, we think it’s one of the many important things that can bring happiness in our life. But once we own them, slowly over time, it no more excites us. Please take charge of your life

We all are familiar with the story of Hanuman being punished with a curse in his childhood by Lord Brahma. Bewildered by that curse, Hanuman forgot about his might, his infinite powers and abilities and began acting like an ordinary Vanara. He finally again remembered his power when Jambavan reminded him at the time of searching for Sita.

I believe in today’s world, just like Hanuman most of us have forgotten our infinite powers and living ordinary lives. And the sad part is, there is no one like Jambavan who reminds us of our true potential. Through this article, we will try to figure out where have we gone wrong in our lives.

Let’s start by asking ourselves a very basic question. How many of us have ever penned down our Goals – Academic Goals, Personal Goals, Professional Goals, Financial Goals, Fitness Goals, Short term goals, Long term goals. You may be thinking, what big deal,  i already know that setting goals is important.  But my question is, you know this but have you penned down your goals? And if yes are these goals measurable? I am sure 95% of us don’t write goals. Also tell me can you write down 10 new things that you have done in last 6 months that will take you closure to your goals. Just imagine, if this is our seriousness and attitude towards one of the most important things in life, then do we deserve success. If our goals are not definitive and measurable, we don’t have a road map for achieving our goals, what are we going to achieve and how.

If God decided my Fate, then why should i put efforts

Since childhood, we are brought up in the society inculcating a firm belief in the existence of a Super natural power God. We are told God punishes those who do evils and takes care of those who love God and love the people around them whom God created. As time passes by, we hear stories from our parents, teachers, well wishers on how our "Fate is Pre decided", "Everything  good or bad in our Life is due to Karmas of purva Janma" etc. And as we grow big, complete college and start our professional career, one question that starts bothering us is that "If God has already decided my Fate or everything that happens in my life is due to results of my Purva Karmas, then what is the point in my putting in any efforts, because i don't have control on my destiny" . And this questions bothers us only at those times when we are facing failures in life.Today, we will try to find answer for this question.

I will first tell you a story about 3 friends and then try to give my perspective on the Laws of Fate, Destiny and Freewill. There were 3 friends, we will call them A, B and C who joined same company after completing their graduation. All 3 started at a Salary of Rs. 3 lacs per annum. After working for 2 years in that company, they found that their was no growth in company and so their careers were struck. Since A was a firm believer in fate and destiny, he thought God has already decided my career path, so let me carry on as per his wishes. B and C though believed in destiny but they had faith in their efforts and hard work too. So both B and C cleared couple of certification courses. Afterwards B got a job in a large Corporation with a decent salary hike. And C got a job in a small start up company where he had to start from scratch. But C also got a decent salary hike.
